New Crafts! Part 2

I thought I would break up the new crafts post into two parts so there wasn't so much to look at in one post!
"HOME" Blocks

I saw these blocks and thought they were so functional and could save on storage space.  That website sells the vinyl and I have a Silhouette so I wanted to do my own vinyl. We stained our blocks, but you could paint them or do whatever you wanted. If you do use stain we had to put on two coats of polycrylic protective finish to get the vinyl to stick.

The vinyl just wouldn't stick on the stain, even after waiting awhile to let it dry. This worked so well that we used it for our next project too.
Grateful Signs

This project turned out so fantastic! We originally were going to have a bunch of different felt flowers, but we loved how these turned out that we just stuck with these. We stained the board and had to use the polycrylic finish to have the vinyl stay. These were just so awesome!
Thanksgiving Centerpieces

I really wanted to do a centerpiece this month. Luckily all the fall stuff was on sale, because can you believe it, all the stores have Christmas decorations out!!!! I love when we do crafts that we buy all the same stuff, but the end product always turns out different and unique to us!! I really liked this project because it was something totally different from what we normally do. We mostly do a lot of wood projects, but this was so much fun!
I hope from this two part post you can get some ideas, or that you just had fun looking at what we've done. Thanks for visiting!

New Crafts! Part 1

I haven't been keeping up with all the crafts we've done lately, so this will be some of the crafts we've done and hopefully you can get some ideas.
Picture Rock

This was an idea I came up with for my kids. We hiked up to the "B" in Brigham City and I took a bunch of pictures while we were up there. It was a fun hike and I wanted to remember it, so I had a flash of brilliance while up there. I thought we could each find a flat rock on the hike and bring it home. When we got home I got wallet size pictures and we glued them on to the rocks and painted the "B" on there with the year. It turned out so fun and a great reminder of our hike!
Pumpkins for Post

We are always looking for things to hang on our fantastic posts, so Stephanie made these. She got a scroll saw, which has been the best thing ever, and she cut out these awesome pumpkins. They were super easy and sooooo cute!!!
Fall/Winter Sign

Back in the spring we made the spring/summer sign so I wanted a fall/winter sign too.  This time we just used one board that was a 10x1. Then we got MDF letters to put on the wood.  The letters I got from Hobby Lobby and a local store in town called Crafting Chaos. We used this tutorial to weather proof everything so the sign could survive through fall and winter weather.
