Easy Glass Block!

This month for our craft day I wanted to find a craft that was easy because I had just gotten back from vacation. So I searched through my plethora of craft stuff. It was a struggle to decide what to do, but I eventually found a bunch of stuff that could work.

I had bought extra glass blocks back in November for our Super Saturday activity, but they didn't get used so I really wanted to use them. I remembered I had also bought some smaller plastic eggs to use a few years back, those took a while to find, but I was eventually successful!!! Then I found an Easter Egg font and I cut out some vinyl, and here is the end result.

It took about 5 minutes to put the vinyl on, fill the block, and put on the ribbon! It was seriously the quickest project we have done! I say this every time, but I love how we get the same materials but they turn out different!!! You can't see the font very well in the picture, but the "H" and the "E" have Easter eggs in them. Super cute!! This idea is not original, I saw a ton of pins on pinterest with something similar so I couldn't site them all. But, we did make it our own!
Anyway, the best part about this project is that I spent absolutely no money!!!! Everything we used were things that I had in my stash! Obviously, I did spent money to obtain those things at a different point in time! ;) But, I was happy to declare to my husband that I spent no money at this time!!! That always makes him happy and it makes my stash seem a little bit smaller!

Valentine Day Pillows

It was my turn to decide what we did for craft day this month, and it was a struggle! I wanted to do something for Valentine's day, but I wanted something that was a little different from other things we have done. Have you ever gotten into a phase where you just love to do the same kind of craft for different holidays? I seem to find a craft that is so awesome I just want to recreate it all the time. Anyway... I decided to try something different and a little out of my comfort zone. Tada!!!

We made pillows for Valentine's day! I've been trying to get more comfortable with my Silhouette, so I decided to make a Valentine design and use heat transfer vinyl. I found the arrow heart and arrow "love" on the Silhouette store and put them together. I used fat quarters for my fabric. Originally both designs were on gold glitter heat transfer vinyl, but in true fashion I messed up one of the designs so I had to resort to pink. It turned out cute though! The other pillow did have the gold, but I forgot to take a picture. The sewing part was really simple, which I love! I basically can sew a straight line, and they aren't even that straight! ;) Sewing is the other part that is out of my comfort zone! We used a 14"x14" pillow form to stuff it.
I LOVED my pillow so much, that I needed a second one!

This one is smaller and I stuffed it rather than using a pillow form. It turned out so awesome! I love anchors so I had to use this heart anchor from the Silhouette store. I do have to admit that I am a pillow-aholic! I am obsessed with having cute pillows around! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't share my obsession! :( He kind of hates all the pillows we have, so this is one craft I can't get too obsessed with and make a ton of. But, I felt like I was doing so well with the heat transfer vinyl that I had to do one more project!

It's not a great picture, but I had to make an insert for my frame that we made forever ago. I couldn't believe I didn't have anything for it for Valentine's day. So it has arrows around the heart with "be mine" in the middle of the heart! I felt like it needed a little something extra, so I added the bow. I love easy and cute projects. Hopefully these will give you some inspiration.
On a side note, I did these projects on Thursday, so I'm doing great to get them posted today!!!!

Better late than never!

I should have posted this after we first made them, but its better late than never! We made "Joy" signs for Christmas. They turned out so great!

I say this every time, but I love how we have the same things to work with but always come up with a different product! Hobby Lobby is the best place to get Christmas deco! Our wood was from them same piece of wood, but when we stained them they came out different as well. This was a simple, but awesome project!
Hopefully, with the new year we can be better about posting our projects after we do them in a timely fashion! That is a good New Year's resolution, right!? Happy New Year and happy crafting year!
